New Project: Fight the Power, Do No Harm

Old Collaborators Jodi Darby and Honna Veerkamp and I produced this audio documentary about the Black Cross Healthcare Collective!

We worked on it for a couple years, interviewing 11 people over the course of a few months in 2023, then editing, writing, and all the rest in collaboration.

It was interesting to note that people wanted to hear more of the historical context. Portland has changed so much that it’s hard for people to imagine what the political and cultural landscape was for this collective, for our radio collective, and for all the other radical groups of the time.

I hope this helps shed more light on a time and a place that are long gone, but were formative for individuals and for the political culture of Portland
