An Elders Guide to Plywood City (2020)

A one-issue collaboration with Moe Bowstern. The zine documents the murals painted in response to the police murder of George Floyd and the Movement for Black Lives that were painted in downtown Portland the summer of 2020. It includes an essay describing the protests. This zine is dedicated to elders that have been protesting and laying the groundwork for this uprising.

Three Dead Princes (2012)

Three Dead Princes, a fairy tale by Danbert Nobacon, founding member of the band Chumbawamba, was published by Exterminating Angel Press in October, 2010. On October 4th, 2010 Danbert was reading at the Powell’s on Hawthorne. During the Q and A, an audience member asked about plans for an audio book, of which there were none. “That’s what we do!” came a silent chorus which included myself! I functioned as the Executive Producer and Editor, and coordinated the project with publisher Tod Davies and Danbert. We got a project grant from Regional Arts and Culture Council. Paths were made through untrodden woods and fields, and we released the unabridged audio book in 2012.

Alien Boy (2008)

A zine about the life of James Chasse Jr. Chasse was a schizophrenic man living in downtown Portland killed by the cops while taking a walk in the heavily gentrified Pearl District for looking homeless and acting “unusual”. Chasse had been a participant in Portland’s first wave punk scene, making a zine called the Oregon Organizm and singing in bands. He was the inspiration behind the Wipers song Alien Boy.
The zine includes information about his murder, excerpts from his zine, his artwork, and friends’ remembrances of him and the early Portland punk scene. There was a CD included with audio versions of the interviews. A collaboration with Icky.
